Pioneer of Shipbuilding Independence, Advancing Globally

Starting engagement in the development of Korea’s first indigenous warship Ulsan-class frigates in 1975, the Special and Naval Shipbuilding Division pioneered Korea’s independence of naval shipbuilding by developing and delivering the most advanced naval ships including state-of-the-art Aegis destroyers and Korea’s next-generation submarines for ROK Navy and Coast Guard.

On the back of 40-year experiences and technology in the naval shipbuilding sector, the division has evolved into one of global top-tier naval shipbuilding players and continues to expand its presence in the global market by having secured contracts for navies of New Zealand, Bangladesh, Venezuela, and the Philippines.
